Director: Brendan Kirschbaum

My name is Brendan Kirschbaum. I am a 3rd-year undergraduate student at RIT’s School of Film and Animation. I’m studying 2D and 3D animation, with a focus on character animation. I’ve produced three of my own animated short films at RIT, which have premiered in a variety of festivals around the world. I’ve also garnered animation experience as an Art Intern at FableVision Studios and as an independent freelance artist. Hearing people laugh at my work is the most rewarding feeling I have experienced as an artist. I hope to connect with as many people as possible through my work.

A happy blue guy enters a coffee shop, excited to start his day. His positive attitude is tested, however, when he finds that nobody in the coffee shop will look up from their phones to say hello, or even acknowledge his existence. He sits across from one of the phone-entranced customers, determined to start a conversation which extends beyond the confines of a small, bright screen.
